Village
Long Reach
Long Reach includes four Columbia neighborhoods, an active art center and Stonehouse community services, while its proposed village-center redevelopment remains a separate, dated planning matter.
Long Reach brings together Jeffers Hill, Kendall Ridge, Locust Park and Phelps Luck. Its village association and Columbia Art Center provide two useful starting points for understanding local activity. The existing community facilities should be distinguished from the proposed village-center redevelopment, which has its own planning process.
Start with the village association
The Long Reach Community Association identifies Stonehouse at 6110 Foreland Garth as its current contact location. Newcomers can ask about resident information, village meetings and community activities. Its calendar is the right place to find the next board meeting or program instead of relying on an old recurring schedule. The four neighborhood names remain useful when discussing a path, play area or meeting location within the larger village.
Visit the art center
CA lists Columbia Art Center at 6100 Foreland Garth. It offers visual-art classes, rotating exhibitions, a gallery shop and other programs. A gallery visit and a registered class need different preparation: an exhibition can anchor a shorter stop, while a class may require booking, materials and a longer commitment. Use the center’s current address and instructions rather than an older directory entry for the village center.
Follow the redevelopment record
The association’s village-center redevelopment record brings together the master plan, developer updates and links to the county proceedings. Its September 2026 update still describes a proposal moving through the zoning process. Read the latest dated record when following the project; plans and renderings explain intended changes but do not establish that replacement shops, paths or community facilities are available to use.
