Severndale

See how Severndale’s Severn River waterfront works, including its gated pier, picnic area and paddlecraft storage information for residents.

Severndale’s community waterfront brings together a pier, paddlecraft racks and a place to picnic beside the Severn River. A grill and picnic table make the area useful for more than launching a boat. The neighborhood association’s waterfront page explains how residents arrange access and storage.

A smaller-scale river outing

Residents can combine time on the river with a picnic on shore, subject to community rules. The waterfront gate uses a key, and kayak or canoe storage is arranged separately. New residents should confirm available rack space and guest arrangements with the association.

Working with neighboring Kensington

Severndale and Kensington are taking part in a stormwater design effort described by Severn River Association. The work focuses on runoff and protecting the approach to community waterfront space. Its project page gives residents a way to follow design stages and community review. See the stormwater project.

Explore on land, too

The county’s B&A Trail offers a paved route through the broader Severna Park area for walking, running or cycling. Use official trail maps to choose an entrance and an outing length. The trail gives households a public recreation option alongside the association-managed riverfront. For neighborhood news and property documents, start with the community website.
