Oakleigh Forest

Compare Oakleigh Forest’s pool and Cattail Creek waterfront, including separate membership rules, boating access and summer swim-team information.

Oakleigh Forest combines an outdoor pool community with a waterfront on Cattail Creek, which flows into the Magothy River. Those two recreation areas have different membership rules. Understanding that distinction is more useful than treating a home’s advertised “water privileges” as one package. Visit the civic association.

The pool and summer activities

The pool area includes a main pool, wading pool, playground, picnic and grill space, basketball and pickleball courts. The association accepts applications from residents and sponsored nonresidents, with annual membership. The Piranhas swim team is based here and is open to eligible pool members. Consult the pool’s own registration and team pages for the next season, rather than relying on a previous summer’s calendar. Pool and team information.

The creek has a separate access rule

The association lists a ramp, kayak racks, boat slips and a floating dock at its waterfront. Residents using those facilities must be civic-association members in good standing. A nonresident pool membership should not be treated as waterfront permission. Slip waitlist information is held in the member area, so availability needs direct confirmation. Waterfront information.

What to check during a visit

Compare the actual routes from the home to the pool and creek, and ask which membership and storage arrangements apply to that property. Keep public recreation plans separate from private facility visits. Before any swim in the creek, use the county’s current water notices.
