Fairwinds on the Severn

Explore Fairwinds on the Severn’s community shoreline, beach-club role and September 2026 stormwater plans, with practical waterfront access questions.

Fairwinds on the Severn is a waterfront community whose beach club helps care for shared riverfront space. Its marina, boat-ramp area and gathering places are the focus of a shoreline and stormwater project with Severn River Association. Together, they give the neighborhood a practical connection to life on the Severn. Explore the project and waterfront setting.

Protecting the riverfront

A September 18, 2026 update describes shoreline concepts and a 30-percent stormwater design. The proposals include plantings near Seaward Drive and treatment of runoff before it reaches the river. Residents can follow the project page for design changes and community feedback. These are plans in development, not completed new facilities.

Boating and beach-club questions

Before relying on a boat space, confirm the association’s current membership, slip and storage arrangements. Ask how a particular home connects to the waterfront and which guest rules apply. Community facilities are private, so arrange a visit through an authorized resident or representative.

An outing away from the shoreline

Kinder Farm Park in nearby Millersville offers a farm area, playground, paved perimeter trail and natural paths. It provides a land-based change of pace for residents and visiting guests. Check the county park map and passes before heading over. The county water-quality page remains useful when the next outing is back on the river.
