Chartwell
Explore Chartwell’s golf-course setting, separate club memberships, community maps and nearby Kinder Farm Park in the Severna Park area.
Chartwell developed in the 1960s around a golf course, giving it a different starting point from Severna Park’s former beach and vacation communities. Its community association maintains neighborhood information, events and a set of maps that are more useful for understanding the development than a general Severna Park mailing address. Read the association’s overview.
Two clubs, separate decisions
Chartwell Golf and Country Club and St. Andrews Swim and Tennis Club are distinct organizations. The country club describes an invitation and sponsorship process; owning a home beside the course is not proof of membership. The community association also points residents to St. Andrews for swimming and tennis. Check the relevant club directly for current eligibility, availability and costs before making a membership part of your moving plans. Country club membership information.
A public park option nearby
Kinder Farm Park is in neighboring Millersville. Its paved perimeter trail, natural paths, farm area and playground offer a public recreation option independent of either club. The county publishes park passes, rules and a map, so visitors can plan an outing without assuming neighborhood facilities are open to them. Plan a Kinder Farm Park visit.
How to compare a home here
Start with the community maps to confirm which part of Chartwell you are considering. Then compare the actual route from the property to Benfield-area destinations and the club you intend to use. A golf-course view, a short drive to a pool and access to that pool are three different features; confirm each separately.
