Harundale
Harundale’s civic association and Eastway library connect this Glen Burnie neighborhood with local meetings, services and a longer public-library history. Current programs are separate from plans for a replacement library.
Connect through the civic association
The Harundale Oakwood Park Civic Association provides a local channel for neighborhood issues, volunteers and community meetings. Its 2026 notices place meetings at Harundale Presbyterian Church on Eastway. Consult the current notice for the next gathering and its agenda, especially if you want to bring a specific concern or help with an activity.
A neighborhood link to library history
The county library system’s historical timeline records a northern-county library opening in a rented Harundale house in 1953. The purpose-built Eastway location followed in May 1969. Those dates give the neighborhood a specific place in the development of public library service, rather than simply treating the branch as another address on a shopping corridor.
Find today’s branch on Eastway
Glen Burnie Library now lists 1010 Eastway as its address. It is the place to look for branch programs, technology resources and meeting space. Plans for a larger replacement appear on the branch page, but remain distinct from the operating location. The association and library offer different kinds of participation: neighborhood organizing through one, public learning and services through the other.
