Eastport

Explore Eastport through its marine businesses, Fourth Street and the Maritime Museum’s Back Creek location, with clear distinctions between public and private waterfront access.

Eastport gives Annapolis a working-waterfront perspective. The city's district guide identifies Fourth Street as a commercial center within a neighborhood that mixes homes and marine businesses. A walk or appointment here can involve a restaurant, a marine service company and a waterfront institution without those places sharing the same access rules.

Know which museum campus you need

The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park operates two separate campuses. The museum is at 723 Second Street, at the Back Creek end of the street in Eastport. The park is at 7300 Edgewood Road across the creek. Choose the address on your program or reservation; do not assume that arriving at one means you have reached the other.

The museum describes a small visitor parking lot and directs visitors elsewhere when it is full. It specifically prohibits use of the Eastport Yacht Center parking lot across the street. Checking that detail before a visit is more useful than treating all nearby waterfront parking as interchangeable.

Find a public place by the water

Use the city's water access tool to identify public sites and the activities they support. A shoreline view from a street does not establish permission to use a dock or launch a boat.

Explore the business neighborhood

The city's Eastport description is a useful introduction to its maritime identity. For a specific service, class or appointment, go on to the operator's current information. Keep the return route and the correct campus or entrance in the plan.
