Municipality
Templeville
Templeville is a small incorporated town along the Queen Anne’s–Caroline county line, with a history that predates its current name.
Templeville follows Maryland Route 302 along the Queen Anne’s–Caroline county line. The county’s description places its northern side in Queen Anne’s and its southern side in Caroline, amid an agricultural landscape. That shared geography matters when looking up a specific address or local service.
A small municipality with a long history
The Maryland State Archives records an earlier name, Bullock Town, and incorporation in 1865. Its 2020 census entry reports 113 residents. That is a dated population count, useful for scale rather than a claim about the number living here today.
Templeville has its own municipal government despite its size. The Archives entry provides a town-office contact, a useful first step for residents with questions about town responsibilities or meetings.
Reading the landscape
The 2009 comprehensive plan offers a fuller historical view of the town and the issues its planners considered. Read it as a document of that period: proposed public improvements do not establish what has since been built. For a newcomer, the most useful orientation is the relationship between the road, town limits and two counties. Confirm the jurisdiction of an individual property before using a county resource or municipal service listing.
