Sudlersville

Sudlersville connects railroad heritage and Jimmie Foxx memorabilia with a community park on East Main Street.

Railroad history is a natural starting point in Sudlersville. The town’s introduction highlights its train station museum and connections to baseball player Jimmie Foxx and astronomer Simon Newcomb. The museum gives those names and stories a place to begin exploring.

At the station

The Sudlersville Train Station Museum occupies the station’s original location. Its operator, the Sudlersville Community Betterment Club, purchased the building in 1987 and restored it for exhibits on the town, railroad history and Foxx memorabilia. This is a local history museum rather than a station for a scheduled passenger train.

Use the museum’s event calendar to choose a visiting opportunity. Its programs can make a focused reason to come to town, particularly for readers interested in baseball history or the railroad’s role in rural communities. A listed special event has its own date and arrangements; it should not be treated as a promise of daily opening.

A park on East Main Street

Sudlersville Park covers 36.5 acres and includes a one-mile paved walking loop, a playground, courts, fields and a pavilion. That mix supports an ordinary outing as well as organized recreation. The county also describes a summer StoryWalk, a seasonal feature rather than a guaranteed autumn activity.

The station and park offer two distinct ways into the town: one through local collections, the other through shared outdoor space. Pick the museum date first if going inside is central to your plans, then fit the park around it.
