Municipality
Queen Anne
Queen Anne’s railroad roots meet the Tuckahoe landscape in a small town shared by Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties.
Queen Anne sits across Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties beside Caroline County. Its earlier name, Morgansville, recalls Jacob Morgan’s farm; a railroad station near Tuckahoe Creek helped establish the town’s later identity. The county’s town history connects that station to the growth of local commerce.
A town with its own government
The Maryland State Archives municipal entry dates incorporation to 1953 and identifies Town Hall at 13600 Main Street. Queen Anne is a specific municipality, distinct from the larger county that shares its name. The town office is the starting point for municipal questions; a Queen Anne mailing address alone does not establish that a property lies inside town limits.
Nearby Tuckahoe
Tuckahoe State Park adds a nearby lake, woodland and marsh setting. Choose the entrance for your activity: the lake shelter, boathouse and playground are at 13187 Crouse Mill Road, while the lakefront ramp is at 710 Crouse Mill Road. The park’s mailing address is a different location.
For a walk, start with the park’s trail information. When checked on October 2, 2026, the park’s trail page said the Tuckahoe Valley Trail has been rerouted and updated maps are forthcoming. Trails south of the lake, except the arboretum, enter a hunting area during applicable seasons. The park is a separate destination nearby, rather than a municipal park in Queen Anne.
