Community
Price
Price’s rural setting is anchored by Rabbit Hill Road, a community center and the MD 405 crossing of US 301.
Price is a rural Queen Anne’s County community associated with the MD 405 crossing of US 301 and Rabbit Hill Road. An October 2025 State Highway Administration announcement identifies both the intersection and the Price Community Center at 121 Rabbit Hill Road, using a Church Hill mailing address for the hall. That postal label should not obscure the community’s own name.
Farm and railroad history
A Maryland Historical Trust survey of the John R. Smith Farm provides a more detailed view of the surrounding landscape. Prepared in 1980, it records a house near Rabbit Hill Road with an eighteenth-century core and a nineteenth-century enlargement. The survey places the farm alongside the former Kent and Queen Anne’s Railroad and notes that parts of the property predate the railway.
This is architectural history of private property, not an invitation to enter a farm or tour a house. The dated survey is useful for understanding how farming, homes and transport overlapped around Price; it does not establish the buildings’ present condition.
Arriving for a local purpose
Use a specific address for a community gathering or other planned stop. Road information also needs a current check: the 2025 highway announcement describes an intersection project from that year, not today’s traffic conditions or a measured commute. Price’s local identity is clearest in these named community and landscape connections.
