Kent Narrows
Kent Narrows combines restaurants and marinas on both sides of the strait with heritage exhibits and access to shoreline trails.
Kent Narrows is a waterfront district with destinations on both sides of the strait. Its dining directory places the Dock House on Piney Narrows Road in Chester, while Bridges on Wells Cove Road and Fisherman’s Inn on Main Street use Grasonville addresses. Pick the restaurant, marina or trail entrance before choosing a side of the water.
Begin with the heritage center
The county-operated Chesapeake Heritage and Visitors Center is on the western waterfront. Exhibits introduce local maritime life, and the center provides area information. The adjoining Ferry Point Nature Park offers a trail into a different waterfront setting. Indoor center hours are seasonal, so check them separately from park access.
Explore the trail connections
The Cross Island Trail reaches the Kent Narrows area from the west. The development foundation also describes the connector east to Long Point Park in Grasonville. Use the current route map and designated parking for the portion you want to walk or ride.
Make meal and boat plans separately
Several restaurants list waterfront dining, and some advertise docking arrangements. A table reservation does not establish an available berth or a suitable approach for a particular boat. Contact the operator about both. Likewise, a seafood menu alone does not confirm the origin of that day’s catch. These details are worth checking before organizing a group outing.
