Crumpton
Crumpton combines a Chester River landing, a grass-path county park and the changing catalogs of Dixon’s Auction.
Crumpton has several distinct reasons to stop: river access, outdoor recreation and auctions. Each has its own entrance and arrangements, so a useful visit begins with choosing the activity you actually want to do.
At the river and park
The county lists Crumpton Landing at 400 Market Street as a permitted launch site. Its shallow-water approach to the river channel is a material detail for boaters; consult the landing’s current requirements and conditions before launching.
Crumpton Park at 2210 Dudley’s Corner Road offers a different kind of outdoor time. The seven-acre park has a playground and ballfield, with a grass walking path extending along the park and an adjoining field. The surface matters when choosing footwear or deciding whether the route fits your needs. The park is a separate destination from the landing.
Auction catalogs with local roots
Dixon’s Auction at Crumpton lists its location at 2017 Dudley Corner Road and operates online auctions, including recurring sales and additional specialist catalogs. Furniture, art and collectibles can vary from one catalog to the next. Check the actual sale, inspection and collection arrangements before making a trip; the current online format should not be confused with a weekly walk-in antiques market.
These places give Crumpton a practical mix of river activity, recreation and commerce. They work best as named stops with their own purposes, rather than as a promised all-day itinerary.
