Centreville

Centreville brings county-seat services and a compact business district together with parks and the Corsica River waterfront.

Centreville is Queen Anne’s County’s county seat, at the head of navigation on the Corsica River. The town’s overview describes a compact business district alongside government offices, local services and historic buildings. It serves as a practical center for surrounding rural communities as well as a place to spend part of a day.

Commerce Street and daily stops

The Centreville library branch is at 121 South Commerce Street. Its program calendar gives residents another reason to return downtown beyond an errand or meal. Historic buildings along Commerce Street add context to a walk, with house-museum visits arranged through their operators.

From town to the river

Wharf Park and Millstream Park offer different settings. The town’s 2022–2026 parks update documents completed waterfront pavilions and boardwalk improvements, as well as work on the existing Millstream Trail. It also distinguishes projects still underway: the Wharf bandshell and a proposed Millstream extension require further work.

For a first visit, choose either a downtown stop or a park entrance as your starting point, then build the rest of the outing around it. Consult the town’s latest project notices for access where construction is taking place. A future trail line or planned facility should not be used as a promise of what is available today.
