Pylesville

Pylesville offers two distinct Deer Creek country outings: Eden Mill’s educational park and the separate Falling Branch trail to Kilgore Falls.

Pylesville rewards a destination-specific plan. Eden Mill Nature Center and Historic Grist Mill Museum at 1617 Eden Mill Road combines local industrial history with a park beside Deer Creek. Its grounds open from dawn to dusk; indoor hours can change around educational programs, so call ahead if the museum is the main reason for going.

Choose your walk

Eden Mill’s roughly three-mile trail network includes creekside routes and a seasonal StoryWalk on the Buffer Zone trail. The nature center also has a canoe and kayak launch, but does not rent boats. Swimming is prohibited in the park.

A separate waterfall destination

Falling Branch and Kilgore Falls use a different entrance, at 1026 Falling Branch Road. This satellite area of Rocks State Park has a 28-car lot. DNR requires weekend and holiday reservations from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and says there is no nearby overflow parking on neighboring properties.

Choose Eden Mill for a visit built around trails and environmental learning, or plan specifically for the waterfall entrance. Keeping those two addresses separate avoids arriving at one park facility expecting access to the other.
