Woodlawn
Woodlawn’s Security Boulevard corridor combines major institutions with neighborhood services; its library currently operates from a temporary address.
Everyday services on Security Boulevard
Woodlawn’s library is an important starting point for getting oriented in this western Baltimore County community. During renovation, the Woodlawn Branch operates at 6660 Security Boulevard, Suite 13. The temporary branch offers public computers, printing, WiFi and study rooms. Readers looking for the familiar Woodlawn Drive building should use the temporary address for current library service.
The permanent branch’s expansion includes a planned recording studio, digital media lab and additional spaces for different ages. Those are renovation plans, not amenities to expect at the temporary location. The library’s Storyville page separately confirms that the Woodlawn play-and-learn center remains closed for renovation. Its child-sized rooms and early-literacy activities serve children from birth through age five when operating.
A commercial center being reconsidered
Nearby Security Square is another part of Woodlawn’s changing civic landscape. The 2023 vision plan’s design team describes a community process around an 88-acre mall site, exploring housing, recreation, retail and workspaces. That is useful context for understanding local redevelopment discussions. It should not be read as a directory of completed attractions or new facilities.
