Sherwood Forest

Sherwood Forest is a private Severn River community with club recreation and waterfront facilities. Invited visits need a host arrangement; Generals Highway Corridor Park supplies a separate public recreation option nearby.

A private community on the Severn

Sherwood Forest’s club-operated public profile identifies it as a gated private community on the Severn River. Its recreation facilities include a nine-hole golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, a marina, beaches and a swimming pool. The club also describes a summer children’s program and wooded trails, illustrating how much of neighborhood life is organized around shared recreation.

Plan an invited visit with your host

The club’s listed address is 134 Sherwood Forest Road. Before traveling, ask the resident or club host to arrange entry and explain which facilities are included in the visit. A golf course, trail or beach listed among community amenities should not be treated as a public destination. Camp participation and event access also need their own arrangements through the club.

A public outdoor option in the area

For an outing independent of a club invitation, Generals Highway Corridor Park is at 1758 Crownsville Road. The county lists disc golf, a trail, playing fields, a playground and picnic facilities. This is a separate county park, useful when planning recreation in the broader Crownsville–Annapolis area before or after visiting friends in Sherwood Forest.
