Selby-on-the-Bay

Selby-on-the-Bay is a Mayo Peninsula neighborhood where a private waterfront park, clubhouse and volunteer association shape community life.

Selby-on-the-Bay is a residential community on the Mayo Peninsula with a private beach and park along the South River. The community association’s website is the practical guide to neighborhood events and access, with forms for parking stickers, key fobs and facility use.

The clubhouse and the waterfront

The Selby clubhouse at 3715 First Avenue overlooks Selby Bay. It serves community gatherings and can be rented by property owners and associate members. The address uses Edgewater, but the association’s own name identifies the neighborhood and its facilities. Building reservations and beach arrangements are handled separately, so residents planning an event should use the relevant forms and calendar.

A volunteer board manages association business. Property owners elect its members, and community meetings provide a route for following local decisions. For someone moving into Selby, that organization is a more useful source of amenity information than assuming every waterfront feature follows county-park rules.

Plan access with the right operator

The association’s beach and park guidance limits those facilities to property owners and associate members, requires parking permits and closes the grounds at dusk. Visitors should make arrangements with their host. For a general public beach trip on the peninsula, consult the separate Mayo Beach Park page and its seasonal schedule. Selby’s waterfront remains a community resource rather than a public shortcut to the river.
