Riviera Beach

Riviera Beach’s newer library provides a local learning and meeting point. Fort Smallwood Park offers a separate public waterfront outing, with its own entrance, vehicle fees and activity rules.

Visit the newer library building

Riviera Beach Library opened its new building on April 25, 2024. The design includes the nautical Discovery Dock children’s area, spaces for study and collaboration, and an outdoor boardwalk and patio. Those features give the branch a distinct local character and options for visits that involve more than choosing a book.

Use the Duvall Highway entrance

The current branch page places the library at 1130 Duvall Highway, at Fort Smallwood Road. It provides program listings, public technology information and a link to the Riviera Beach history collection on Digital Maryland. The history collection is a useful companion to local exploration; the event calendar is the place to choose a current family activity or class.

Add a separate waterfront destination

Fort Smallwood Park, at 9500 Fort Smallwood Road, has walking trails, a playground, a fishing pier and surviving coastal-defense features. Plan it as a separate park visit, with the county’s vehicle-entry fees or pass arrangements. Swimming, boating and pavilion use have their own conditions, so choose the activity before assuming that the general park listing answers every access question.
