Linthicum Heights
Linthicum Heights combines north-county residential life with airport-area history, local parks and access to county planning resources.
Linthicum Heights is one of the north-county communities grouped in Anne Arundel County’s Region 1 plan, alongside BWI Airport, Ferndale and Brooklyn Park. That planning context helps explain why a community search here often includes both established residential streets and the larger airport corridor. Use the county’s community maps when checking a particular property or development proposal.
A farmhouse beside the airport story
The Benson-Hammond House at 7101 Aviation Boulevard gives this part of the county a tangible connection to the land before the airport. The historical society interprets the house’s farming history, including produce grown for local and Baltimore markets. A visit is a way to add local context to an area often seen through an airport or hotel address. Check the society’s visiting calendar: tours run on selected dates, so the museum should be a planned stop.
A local outdoor starting point
The county lists Andover Park at 805 Main Avenue in Linthicum Heights. Use its official location page to identify the entrance before setting out. For a neighborhood visit, choose one specific outdoor stop and one destination nearby rather than assuming every airport-area address belongs to the same walkable center.
Following changes in the community
The Region Planning page connects residents with the adopted plan and community hub. It is useful for understanding proposals, transportation priorities and public facilities. When a project interests you, follow its own record for the current stage; inclusion in a plan does not tell you when construction will occur.
