Ferndale

Ferndale combines a Light Rail stop with neighborhood recreation at Arundel Hills Park. Current train information and the county’s park project page help separate today’s facilities from planned improvements.

Ferndale on the rail network

Ferndale has a stop on the Maryland Transit Administration’s Light Rail network. For a trip toward Baltimore or a connection farther along the line, start with the current schedule selector and service alerts. Choose the actual origin and destination stations; a route map by itself does not tell you which departures fit a particular appointment or return trip.

Find the local park entrance

Arundel Hills Park is at 895 Furnace Branch Road West, which the county identifies as Ferndale. Its listed facilities include basketball and tennis courts, a playground and trails. The street address is the useful navigation detail: the road name should not be taken as a reason to search for a different park in the Furnace Branch area.

Follow the next stage of park work

The county’s Arundel Hills capital-project page, updated August 14, 2026, describes a conditions assessment and feasibility work in the planning stage. Those studies can inform future changes, but they do not establish that a renovation has already opened. Residents interested in improvements can use the project page to follow the scope and next updates.
