Area
Centennial
Centennial offers access to a large county park with four separate entrances, lakeside paths, a North-area sensory playground and specific arrangements for group recreation.
Centennial’s most useful visitor landmark is Centennial Park, but the park has four separate entrance areas. Choosing the right one makes a substantial difference when meeting friends, bringing children to a play area or joining a booked group activity. Treat the broader Centennial locality and the county park as related place names, not identical boundaries.
Pick the entrance for the outing
The county’s park directory lists Main/South at 10000 Clarksville Pike, North at 9801 Old Annapolis Road, East at 4800 Woodland Road and West at 4651 Centennial Lane. The South area provides lake access, a paved path, picnic facilities and a playground. Send the chosen entrance address with an invitation; “meet at Centennial” can otherwise leave members of a group on opposite sides of the park.
Consider the North play and fitness area
Howard County’s June 2024 opening announcement documents an outdoor fitness lot in the North area, alongside the sensory playground and pathway. That gives a family or multigenerational group a different focus from a lake walk. Pick the facilities that suit the people coming, and plan where everyone will regroup rather than assuming the whole party will follow the same activity.
Check the group-use arrangements
The county’s recreation rental page covers pavilion and boat-rental arrangements. As checked October 2, 2026, it says Centennial Pavilion H is under construction and unavailable for the remainder of the rental season. Choose another confirmed location for a planned gathering. Lake access and a staffed boat-rental session are also separate matters: a park visit does not by itself establish that rental boats are operating at the time you arrive.
