Neighborhood
Faulkner Ridge
Faulkner Ridge pairs an established Wilde Lake neighborhood with a new early childhood center under construction. Keep the future school project separate from the existing Marble Faun Court pool.
A Wilde Lake neighborhood
Faulkner Ridge is part of Wilde Lake village and takes its name from writer William Faulkner. The village association places it alongside Bryant Woods and Running Brook. Local orientation centers on two different Marble Faun addresses: an established recreation facility on Marble Faun Court and a school-construction site on Marble Faun Lane.
Watch the early learning project
The former Faulkner Ridge school site is being transformed into an early learning center. The village’s project update describes construction underway and an expected fall 2027 opening. An August 25, 2026 HCPSS announcement gives the address as 10598 Marble Faun Lane and says the center is intended to serve children ages three and four from across Howard County. This is a future educational resource; living in Faulkner Ridge does not establish a place in the program. Follow HCPSS for enrollment details as opening approaches.
The existing pool and village programs
Faulkner Ridge Pool, at 10518 Marble Faun Court, has a six-lane main pool and a beach-entry wading area with water features. Its seasonal schedule is separate from school construction. Beyond swimming, Wilde Lake’s community responsibility guide points residents toward the village association for neighborhood-center rentals and programs, and toward CA for recreation facilities. That division helps newcomers find the right office without confusing the new early learning center with the neighborhood’s existing shared spaces.
