Neighborhood

Bryant Woods

Bryant Woods was an early residential center of Columbia’s Wilde Lake village. Its neighborhood pool and the origins of local outdoor movie screenings connect daily recreation with Columbia’s beginnings.

Where early Columbia took shape

Bryant Woods is one of Wilde Lake’s three neighborhoods. The community association identifies it as the place where the village’s first houses and apartments emerged during Columbia’s early development. The neighborhood honors poet William Cullen Bryant. That early history gives Bryant Woods a useful place in a Columbia visit: the residential streets are part of the original new-town story, alongside the village’s community facilities.

A pool on Green Mountain Circle

Bryant Woods Pool is at 10451 Green Mountain Circle. CA lists a main pool, wading pool, hot tub and shade among its facilities. It is an outdoor seasonal destination, so use the linked operating schedule and admission information when planning a swim. The neighborhood setting should not be mistaken for unrestricted pool access; CA manages the facility and its entry arrangements.

A small beginning for outdoor movies

Columbia’s outdoor-film tradition has a Bryant Woods connection. In CA’s account of Mr. B’s screenings, the story begins in 1969 with a projector and a sheet at Rain Dream Hill park, before the movies became a Lakefront tradition. That is a historical connection, rather than an announcement of a screening here today. For present neighborhood questions, Wilde Lake’s responsibility guide separates village events and neighborhood-center matters from CA recreation facilities and county services. It is a useful companion to the history when settling into everyday life here.
