Neighborhood
Dickinson
Dickinson is a Kings Contrivance neighborhood named for Emily Dickinson, with Amherst House and a pool on Weatherworn Way.
Dickinson takes its neighborhood and street names from poet Emily Dickinson. The Kings Contrivance association also places Amherst House in this neighborhood and connects its name to the poet’s Massachusetts hometown. The literary references give two familiar local addresses a shared origin.
Community space and seasonal swimming
Amherst House, at 7251 Eden Brook Drive, houses the village association and offers meeting and event space. Its website provides community-calendar, rental and covenant information, making it a useful resource for people living across Kings Contrivance as well as in Dickinson itself. Contact the office to arrange a venue tour.
Dickinson Pool is at 7425 Weatherworn Way near Dickinson Park. Columbia Association lists a six-lane beach-entry main pool, twin slides in the deep end, a wading pool with water features and sand volleyball. Check the operator’s seasonal schedule, status and admission rules before planning a swim. Amherst House activities and pool access are arranged separately, so select the appropriate contact when making plans for a class, gathering or afternoon of aquatics.
