Neighborhood
Swansfield
Swansfield is the art-named neighborhood of Harper’s Choice. Its Cedar Lane waterpark and nearby SportsPark offer distinct options for swimming, mini-golf, batting practice and skating.
Art in the street names
Swansfield is one of Harper’s Choice’s three neighborhoods. Its name comes from James Abbott Whistler’s etching The Swan; its street names draw on works by Whistler and Winslow Homer. The Harper’s Choice overview explains that artistic connection, which sets Swansfield apart from the village’s Longfellow and Tolkien-inspired neighborhoods.
A waterpark on Cedar Lane
The Swansfield Mini WaterPark is at 5659 Cedar Lane. It combines a heated main pool with a deep-end slide and a separate splash pad. CA lists a pool lift, a family changing room, shade and an adjacent basketball court and tot lot. Those details help families choose the right kind of outing: water play and lap swimming share a site, but they serve different interests. Use the facility’s seasonal calendar before traveling.
More activities around Harper’s Choice
For an outing beyond the pool, Columbia SportsPark at 5453 Harpers Farm Road offers an 18-hole mini-golf course, batting cages with baseball and softball settings, and a skate park. Its facility calendar separates the available activities and operating times, making it easier to plan for a mixed group. Harper’s Choice’s village office at Kahler Hall also provides copying and notary services by arrangement. Together, these resources connect Swansfield’s residential streets to the village’s shared recreation and everyday services.
