Community

Winfield

Winfield’s recreation council and county parks provide practical ways to connect with this South Carroll community.

Winfield centers on Salem Bottom Road and West Old Liberty Road. Local recreation offers a useful introduction to the community, with organized programs and several named facilities that should be checked individually when planning a visit.

Programs supported by local volunteers

The Winfield Recreation Council works in partnership with Carroll County Recreation and Parks. Its website brings together program and registration information and explains the role of volunteers. Start with the activity you want to join, then confirm the age group, season and location with its organizer.

For a new resident, that program information can be more useful than a general list of nearby amenities. It identifies who runs an activity and gives a route into participating or helping with it.

Two separate park addresses

The county’s park directions list Winfield Park at 4388 Salem Bottom Road and Mayeski Park at 1300 West Old Liberty Road. Mayeski’s entrance is beside the South Carroll High School stadium area; Winfield Park is opposite Winfield Elementary.

Those school names are navigation landmarks. A park visit or recreation registration does not establish school enrollment for an address. Use the precise facility name when arranging to meet a group.
