Neighborhood
Woodbourne-McCabe
Woodbourne-McCabe combines a local park with a documented history of housing rehabilitation and neighborhood collaboration. Civic and nonprofit resources provide ways to learn about that work without assuming current homes or programs are available.
Locate a neighborhood green space
The City records Alhambra Park at 5200 Alhambra Avenue, within Woodbourne-McCabe. It is a useful local landmark when orienting to the neighborhood or arranging a community discussion. The mapped park identity does not, by itself, establish a current event calendar or the condition of individual facilities.
Understand the housing work
In a December 2023 account, Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake reported building or renovating more than twenty homes in Woodbourne-McCabe. It described collaboration with the neighborhood association and North Baltimore Presbyterians, as well as work by HabiCorps construction trainees. That documented project history offers a concrete view of local rehabilitation efforts; it is not an advertisement for homes currently on the market.
Find the appropriate organization
The Northeast Community Organization directory includes the Woodbourne-McCabe association among its members. Begin there for neighborhood participation, and use Habitat’s own current program information for volunteering or housing questions. Keeping those routes separate helps a resident find the organization responsible for the issue, rather than treating every community project as one service.
