Neighborhood

Washington Village/Pigtown

Washington Village/Pigtown connects the Washington Boulevard business corridor with the B&O Railroad Museum, offering distinct routes for shopping, local participation and railroad history.

Explore Washington Boulevard

Pigtown Main Street supports the Washington Boulevard commercial corridor through business connections, streetscape work and events. Established in 2000, the nonprofit provides a useful introduction to the corridor’s local institutions. Its work is focused on the commercial area, while Washington Village/Pigtown is the wider neighborhood identity used in the City’s records.

Pick a business before heading over

The Main Street directory is a starting point for a food stop, shop or service. Use the individual business’s current hours and booking details once you have chosen it. Entrepreneurs can also follow Main Street’s contact route to discuss the corridor, community events or the process of introducing a business to the neighborhood.

Make railroad history a separate stop

The B&O Railroad Museum, at 901 West Pratt Street, interprets the railroad’s beginnings, the Mount Clare Shops and its historic Roundhouse. Its visitor page separates exhibits, tours, train rides and group arrangements. Select the experience you want, since a museum visit does not automatically include every scheduled ride or special activity.
