University Of Maryland

The University of Maryland area offers cultural visits as well as campus activity, with Westminster’s burial ground and the National Museum of Dentistry using separate visitor processes.

Look beyond the campus name

The University of Maryland, Baltimore’s museum guide identifies cultural places associated with the campus, including Westminster and the National Museum of Dentistry. These provide specific destinations within the wider university area. Use the individual venue’s entrance and visitor process rather than assuming that all academic, medical and museum buildings admit visitors in the same way.

Plan Westminster by visit type

Westminster Burying Ground offers free self-guided visiting through the Greene and Fayette street gates, with weather-related closures possible. Catacomb tours are a separate arrangement, including scheduled first-Saturday tours and advance group bookings. There are no public restrooms on site, a useful detail when planning a longer history outing or bringing a group.

Book a museum group separately

The National Museum of Dentistry provides visitor information and a group-registration process. Organizers are asked to prepare an estimated group size and possible dates. Follow its museum entrance guidance and allow time for check-in; this is a cultural visit, separate from arranging dental treatment at a university clinic.
