Neighborhood
Saint Helena
Saint Helena’s City portion combines detached houses, some rowhomes and a small Parnell Avenue park, within a broader community crossing the County line.
Saint Helena is a community whose familiar name extends across the Baltimore City–County line. Live Baltimore describes mainly detached homes, with some rowhomes. This profile concerns the City’s mapped portion, next to Holabird Industrial Park, rather than treating the whole surrounding community as one jurisdiction.
A residential history tied to port work
The City’s 2005 southeastern-neighborhood plan connects Saint Helena’s development with housing for port workers and their families. That history helps explain residential streets established near substantial industrial and transportation land.
A park on Parnell Avenue
City geometry locates Saint Helena Park within the neighborhood, on the City side of the boundary. Recreation and Parks’ published inventory gives its address as 6521 Parnell Avenue. The named park offers a local reference point among the homes, distinct from the much larger Holabird area nearby. Because the broader community spans two jurisdictions, a household’s actual address determines which public-service system to contact; the Saint Helena name alone does not settle City or County responsibility.
