Rosebank

Rosebank’s York Road edge includes the Senator Theatre and the Junior League of Baltimore headquarters. A film visit, architectural interest and organized volunteering offer different ways into this part of North Baltimore.

Make the Senator a destination

The Senator Theatre gives Rosebank a recognizable York Road landmark. Its original auditorium opened in 1939; the cinema now combines that restored space with three additional screens. The operator describes both digital and 35mm presentation and repertory programming. Choose a film from the current calendar, since the building’s history is only one part of a working cinema visit.

Plan for the screening you want

The theatre’s visitor information explains access and viewing accommodations, including assistive listening and closed-caption equipment. Review the details for the screen and performance you plan to attend. That is more useful than assuming every auditorium or film has the same arrangement simply because it shares the Senator name.

Find a neighboring volunteer organization

Beside the theatre, the Junior League of Baltimore has its headquarters at 5902 York Road, at Rosebank Avenue. Its work centers on women’s leadership, volunteer action and training. The organization’s joining information is the appropriate starting point for participation; office visits are by appointment rather than an open visitor attraction.
