Neighborhood

Millhill

Millhill’s long rowhouse streets meet the lower Gwynns Falls park corridor and Wilkens Avenue bus service.

Millhill is a southwest Baltimore City neighborhood adjoining Carrollton Ridge, Shipley Hill, Carroll-South Hilton, Gwynns Falls, Wilhelm Park and Carroll Park. Live Baltimore highlights its rowhouses, including the notably long run known as the Millhill Deck of Cards. That local name points to the repeated building rhythm along an extended residential block.

The City maps Lower Gwynns Falls Park across part of Millhill and neighboring communities. Its Gwynns Falls Trail map places the surrounding valley within a route connecting the western parks with Carroll Park and waterfront destinations. The map is useful for orientation, while a planned walk or ride still needs a specific entrance and a check of current conditions.

For a different kind of connection, MTA Route 76 includes Wilkens Avenue stops at Millington Avenue and Brunswick Street on its CCBC–Downtown service. Choose the stop and direction appropriate to the trip. Millhill’s residential blocks, stream-valley parkland and bus corridor are close neighbors, but each has a different role in daily travel.
