Neighborhood

Midtown-Edmondson

Midtown-Edmondson has its own neighborhood identity and community organization, with resident participation centered on housing, development and west Baltimore transportation planning.

Keep the neighborhood names separate

Midtown-Edmondson’s community map identifies a west Baltimore neighborhood distinct from Edmondson Village and the broader Midtown name used elsewhere in the city. Use the complete neighborhood name when following local meetings or a property-specific question. That keeps a nearby commercial corridor or transportation project from standing in for the community itself.

Meet the resident organization

The Edmondson Community Organization was founded in 1993 and reorganized in 2022. It identifies HUB West Baltimore as its development-focused unit. The organization’s history explains why neighborhood work brings together housing, vacant-property issues and transportation: these are connected concerns for the residents shaping the area’s next steps.

Follow transportation work through current notices

The organization’s transportation page is a route into station-area and corridor discussions. For a resident or business owner, the useful next step is the current meeting, document or project contact. Keep proposed improvements separate from the train or bus service available for a particular trip, and use the service operator for that day’s journey.
