Middle Branch/Reedbird Parks

Middle Branch/Reedbird Parks connects public park landscapes with the Reedbird fitness center and organized rowing, while broader shoreline improvements continue in separate phases.

Choose the park and activity together

Middle Branch/Reedbird Parks is a City area distinct from its neighboring residential communities, including Cherry Hill, Brooklyn and Westport. The paired name brings together several recreation destinations, so a plan should identify a particular park or facility. A fitness-center visit and an outing from the rowing boathouse begin at different places.

Separate completed facilities from the wider plan

The Reimagine Middle Branch project guide confirms that the Reedbird fitness and wellness center opened in fall 2022. It also describes a much longer shoreline program whose individual projects are at different stages. Use a current facility or event listing for your outing, rather than assuming that every trail, wetland or connection shown in the master plan is complete.

Try rowing through a program

Baltimore Community Rowing, at 3301 Waterview Avenue, offers adult, youth and learn-to-row pathways. Select the program that matches your experience and ask about its session and registration. Organized instruction is the route onto its boats; a public park setting does not make rowing equipment available for unsupervised use.
