Neighborhood
Medford
Medford is a southeast Baltimore residential pocket with rowhomes and apartments, connected to the wider Southeastern neighborhood identity and Eastern Avenue resources.
Medford combines rowhomes, condominiums and apartment buildings, according to Live Baltimore. The City map places it beside Broening Manor, O’Donnell Heights, Canton Industrial Area and Pulaski Industrial Area. That setting puts a small residential community among larger employment and housing districts.
Part of a wider neighborhood story
The City’s 2005 southeastern-neighborhood plan used Southeastern for the area mapped as Medford and Broening Manor. The broader name helps explain why local history and community references do not always follow the smaller labels shown on the City map.
Resources farther along Eastern Avenue
In nearby Highlandtown, the Southeast Anchor Library at 3601 Eastern Avenue offers public computers, printing, Spanish-language materials, children’s and teen sections, and job assistance. It is a wider-area resource rather than a branch inside Medford. Its reading garden and events for different ages provide additional reasons to visit. Medford’s housing and the larger library’s services illustrate two scales of neighborhood life: a compact home base and institutions shared across southeast Baltimore.
