Neighborhood
Lucille Park
Lucille Park is a compact rowhouse neighborhood around Jack Paulsen Park, connected to nearby Park Heights community resources.
Lucille Park occupies a few northwest Baltimore blocks adjoining Langston Hughes, Woodmere, Dolfield, Towanda-Grantley and Central Park Heights. Live Baltimore identifies rowhouses and Jack Paulsen Park as the central neighborhood references. The park and the neighborhood have different names, a small distinction that matters when looking up directions or activities.
The City’s 2008 Park Heights Master Plan explains that Jack Paulsen Park was formerly called Lucille Park. It places the park within a larger recreation network that includes Towanda and Edgecombe parks. That history explains the names; the plan’s old proposals should not be treated as a current list of completed facilities or available programs.
For community services nearby, the Langston Hughes Community, Business and Resource Center at 5011 Arbutus Avenue brings together local organizations and activities in the neighboring Langston Hughes community. Check the operator’s notices for the specific service or event you need. This gives residents a practical resource beyond their own few blocks while keeping the two neighborhoods and their identities distinct.
