Neighborhood

Loyola/Notre Dame

The Loyola/Notre Dame area pairs two university campuses with Gormley Gallery and Evergreen Museum, each offering its own visitor arrangements on North Charles Street.

Two campuses, one City neighborhood

Loyola/Notre Dame is the City neighborhood associated with this part of North Charles Street. It adjoins places including Homeland, Guilford, Evergreen and Wyndhurst. A useful first visit can focus on the area’s public cultural programs, with a named venue and entrance rather than an unscheduled wander through university buildings.

Start with a gallery visit

Gormley Gallery is on the second floor of Fourier Hall at Notre Dame of Maryland University, 4701 North Charles Street. Its visitor page lists weekday hours and a gallery contact. Check the exhibition dates before traveling, and ask the gallery about arrival arrangements or access needs if you have not visited the campus before.

Book Evergreen separately

Johns Hopkins’ Evergreen Museum and Library offers another kind of cultural stop: the Garrett family’s former house, with fine and decorative art and rare books. Its guided tours have their own booking process. Choose the museum’s visitor information for the house and grounds; university gallery hours do not apply to Evergreen.
