Neighborhood

Hillen

Hillen’s rowhomes sit beside Morgan State and the Northwood neighborhoods, with resident committees offering ways to take part in local life.

Hillen brings a residential scale to the blocks near Morgan State University. Live Baltimore describes mostly rowhomes, small front yards and covered entrances. That housing pattern gives the neighborhood a recognizable street setting beside the much larger university grounds, without making campus facilities part of a residential amenity list.

Local work through resident committees

The Hillen Road Improvement Association organizes work through housing and environment committees and activities and welcome efforts. Its committee information offers a practical route for residents interested in a neighborhood project or in meeting other volunteers. Ask the association about current work and the area it represents; its broader community coverage should not be treated as identical to the City’s Hillen boundary.

Several Northwood names meet here

The City neighborhood map places Hillen beside Original Northwood, New Northwood, Morgan State University and Montebello, among other communities. Those distinctions help when looking up a particular home or local organization. Use the street address and the relevant organization’s own information, especially where the Hillen road name continues beyond this residential neighborhood.
