Neighborhood
Gwynns Falls
Gwynns Falls is a southwest Baltimore neighborhood beside the lower river corridor, separate from the larger Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park area.
Gwynns Falls is an official Baltimore City neighborhood adjoining Carroll-South Hilton, Millhill, Wilhelm Park, Saint Agnes and Irvington. It is distinct from the waterway itself and from the Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park neighborhood farther north. Live Baltimore describes apartments and rowhouses, including homes with front-yard space.
The City maps Lower Gwynns Falls Park within part of the neighborhood. Its trail map shows how the stream corridor connects west and southwest Baltimore with Carroll Park and routes toward the harbor. That broader network helps explain the neighborhood’s setting, while the particular entrance and trail segment determine an actual outing.
For transport along the nearby Wilkens Avenue corridor, MTA’s Route 76 supplies a current stop list and timetable between CCBC and Downtown. Compare the relevant stop with the exact home or destination rather than relying on the neighborhood name alone. The river landscape, residential streets and major roads intersect here, so selecting the right crossing or access point is more useful than assuming a straight route on the map.
