Neighborhood
Greenmount West
Greenmount West combines neighborhood organizing with community technology, books and a screen-printing studio that offers both creative education and custom printing.
Start with the community association
The Greenmount West Community Association provides a neighborhood calendar, committees and ways to participate. Its location is 1634 Guilford Avenue, with the entrance on Lanvale Street. Use the latest meeting notice to join a discussion or find the right committee for a neighborhood question, rather than relying on an old event date.
Use a practical community resource
The Greenmount West Community Center describes a computer lab with internet, printing and copying available by appointment. Its community library encourages visitors to take books home to keep. Other creative and meeting spaces have their own arrangements, so contact the center about the resource and time you need.
Explore local screen printing
Greenmount West Power Press is the center’s screen-printing studio and social enterprise. It combines creative learning with custom orders for individuals and organizations. That makes it a useful local contact for a group shirt or printing project as well as arts participation; ask about the current process before preparing a design or assuming walk-in studio time.
