Neighborhood

Glenham-Belhar

Glenham-Belhar’s varied houses sit between the Harford and Belair road areas; some local resources describe the neighborhood as Hamilton.

Glenham-Belhar appears under more than one name in local information. The City’s neighborhood layer retains Glenham-Belhar, while Live Baltimore calls it Hamilton, formerly Glenham-Belhar. Keeping both names in mind makes it easier to connect a street address with the right neighborhood description without confusing it with adjacent Hamilton Hills.

Several house types between two corridors

Live Baltimore describes detached cottages, ranch-style and brick houses, duplexes and apartments in the area between Harford and Belair roads. That mixture gives the residential streets several scales rather than one repeating building form. The City boundary adjoins communities including Westfield, Rosemont East, Cedmont, Frankford and Waltherson.

Use corridor resources by their actual address

HARBEL’s offices are at 5807 Harford Road, providing a route to community and housing assistance in northeast Baltimore. Confirm which program serves the request before arranging a visit. The distinction between a corridor organization, an association’s coverage and the City’s neighborhood name is practical here: all can help explain the area, but they do not necessarily describe identical boundaries.
