Neighborhood

Glen

Glen offers several housing types and an active neighborhood association near Mount Washington’s parks.

Glen sits among a particularly close network of northwest Baltimore neighborhoods: Cross Country and Fallstaff, Arlington and Woodmere, Reisterstown Station, Cheswolde and Mount Washington. Live Baltimore describes detached homes, rowhouses and apartment buildings. A search here can therefore involve very different types of buildings, yards and entrances even within the same official neighborhood.

The Glen Neighborhood Improvement Association, listed by CHAI, is a practical starting point for community questions and local initiatives. CHAI also includes Glen in its northwest service footprint. CHAI’s listing identifies the Park Heights Jewish Community Center as the association’s meeting venue; confirm the next meeting with the organizers before attending.

For an outdoor outing nearby, the Mount Washington Improvement Association describes Irvin Luckman Memorial Park, between Glen, Rockwood, Merville and Key Avenues. Its playgrounds, tennis courts and picnic areas serve a wider neighborhood network. The park sits in neighboring Mount Washington. Friends of Luckman Park organizes volunteer cleanups, providing another way to take part in the local green-space network. Check the group’s current announcement for the next activity.
