Neighborhood
Four By Four
Four By Four’s rowhouse streets have a compact neighborhood identity and a connection to community land-trust work in northeast Baltimore.
Four By Four has a name tied to its compact street pattern. Live Baltimore explains it through four north–south streets and four east–west streets, describing rowhomes with front lawns. That small-scale setting gives the neighborhood an identity beyond the broader east Baltimore names sometimes used around it.
Community land-trust work
The North East Housing Initiative links its work with the Four by Four community. The nonprofit describes a community land-trust model, rehabilitation of vacant properties and shared-equity homeownership. Its information offers a starting point for understanding that approach. Ask the organization about current opportunities and program requirements rather than assuming a particular home is available or that every property in the neighborhood belongs to the trust.
Locate the individual destination
The City boundary places Four By Four beside Belair-Edison, Berea and Clifton Park. Those adjoining areas help orient an address, but the neighborhood’s own residential blocks remain the focus. For a community meeting or housing inquiry, use the specific location supplied by the organizer, which may differ from its mailing address.
