Edgewood

Edgewood is a Baltimore City neighborhood of rowhouses and detached homes near local parks and the Mary E. Rodman school-planning area.

This Edgewood is in west Baltimore City, distinct from the Harford County community of the same name. It adjoins Allendale, Lower Edmondson Village, Edmondson Village and Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park. Live Baltimore identifies rowhouses and detached homes, making the exact block useful when comparing housing.

The City’s Edgewood/Lyndhurst park record places named green space within the neighborhood’s mapped footprint. It is one local reference alongside the larger parkland to the north. The presence of a park on a map does not describe every entrance or the condition of each path, so choose the particular access point for an outing.

The City’s 2021 Mary E. Rodman INSPIRE plan included Edgewood in its school-area work and identified street crossings, sidewalks and trees among its priorities. It also documents the surrounding area’s substantial rowhouse growth between 1910 and 1930. The plan helps explain local history and resident priorities; current school assignments and the completion of individual improvements need their own up-to-date information.
