Druid Hill Park
Druid Hill Park offers several different outings: greenhouse collections at Rawlings Conservatory, an organized group tour or a separately ticketed day at the Maryland Zoo.
Choose an anchor inside the park
Druid Hill Park contains destinations with different entrances and visit lengths. Rawlings Conservatory, at 3100 Swann Drive, is a useful starting point for a plant-focused outing. Opened in 1888, it has five greenhouse areas representing different growing environments. Its visitor page supplies the current opening hours and donation-ticket information.
Organize a group visit in advance
For a club, class or other group, the conservatory has a separate docent-tour request process asking for at least two weeks’ notice. Independent visitors can also use the cellphone tour. Choose the format that suits the group before making transport plans; a group request and an ordinary individual visit are different arrangements.
Give the zoo its own time
The Maryland Zoo, at One Safari Place, is a separately ticketed attraction. Its current calendar and visitor policies are the right basis for planning an animal-focused day. Check the dated hours and any exhibit notices, and leave enough time for the zoo instead of treating it as a quick extension of a conservatory stop.
