Upperco

Upperco’s farm destinations offer different ways to experience the area’s agricultural life, from seasonal produce to booked educational visits and winter tree cutting.

Farm stops along Hanover Pike

Upperco’s agricultural setting is reflected in several operating destinations with distinct kinds of access. Spring Meadow Farms, at 15513 Hanover Pike, lists a garden center and produce market alongside food, a farm zoo, playground and nature walk. Its operator notes that hours change with the season. A market visit and a scheduled entertainment event should therefore be planned from the farm’s current information.

At 15810 Hanover Pike, Farm Field Tours at Bortner Valley takes a more structured educational approach. Its school tours introduce planting, pollination, animals and other farm topics through organized activities. Teachers and group leaders book visits with the operator; the tour program is different from a general walk-in farm attraction.

A winter-growing tradition

Fair Chance Farm, at 16776 Gorsuch Mill Road, specializes in choose-and-cut Christmas trees, with wreaths and greens also part of its seasonal offering. Its published season follows Thanksgiving rather than year-round visitor hours. Together, these destinations show several uses of working agricultural land around Upperco. Each has its own entrance and visiting arrangements, so choose the farm by the experience you want rather than treating all farms as public open space.
