Neighborhood
Chinquapin Park
Chinquapin Park has a neighborhood history of civic organizing and a current connection to plans for the Chinquapin Run Trail. The trail proposal and archival bulletins offer different ways to understand the area.
Follow the proposed stream connection
The Chinquapin Run Trail project would create a continuous route between East Lake Avenue and Perring Parkway. For Chinquapin Park residents, its proposed crossings at Northern Parkway, East Belvedere Avenue and The Alameda make it a locally relevant transportation and recreation project. The City’s April 2026 description remains a proposal, rather than directions for an already completed end-to-end trail.
Take part while the route is being shaped
The project page explains how community input will inform the alignment, landscaping and access points. It also provides a feedback route. A useful comment can identify a particular crossing or connection and explain how it affects a trip, making the request more concrete than a general preference for more trails.

The University of Baltimore holds Chinquapin Park Improvement Association bulletins from 1969–70 in its Northeast Community Organization collection. The finding aid identifies the file and research-request process. For a neighborhood history project, this is a primary archival starting point; the catalog description itself does not reveal everything the bulletins contain.
