Station North Arts District

Station North is an arts district spanning several neighborhoods, with venue calendars, organized Art Walks and practical creative resources such as the Tool Library.

Explore an arts district

Station North received its state arts-district designation in 2002, following an artist-led effort. It brings together creative places across neighborhood lines, so treat it as a district to explore rather than a substitute name for Charles North or Greenmount West. Its history includes both reused industrial buildings and long-established cultural venues.

Build a visit from the current calendar

The district’s venue directory and Art Walk information help turn a broad area into a manageable outing. Choose a few participating spaces and follow the dated event listing for opening hours. Galleries, theaters and working studios have different schedules; an organized Art Walk can provide access that an ordinary weekday visit does not.

Make something as well as viewing it

Station North Tool Library adds tool lending, classes, a woodworking shop and DIY workspace to the area’s creative resources. Its membership, course booking and open-shop arrangements are separate. Start with the activity you need, then complete the relevant sign-up or orientation before planning to use equipment.
