Neighborhood
Carroll-South Hilton
Carroll-South Hilton brings rowhouse streets and several named green spaces into the lower Gwynns Falls corridor.
Carroll-South Hilton is a southwest Baltimore City neighborhood between the Edmondson Avenue communities and the lower Gwynns Falls area. It adjoins Allendale, Saint Josephs, Irvington, Millhill and other neighborhoods. Live Baltimore identifies rowhouses and the nearby park landscape as important parts of its setting.
The City maps Hilton Park within the neighborhood, alongside other green-space parcels and the river corridor. The City’s Gwynns Falls Trail map places this part of west Baltimore within a longer network reaching Carroll Park, the Inner Harbor and Middle Branch. Use it for route orientation, then check the actual access point and present conditions before a longer outing.
For an everyday transport reference, MTA’s CityLink Purple lists a stop at Frederick Avenue and Hilton Street. Its current route runs between City Hall and Paradise/Catonsville. Select the direction and date for a trip rather than relying on an old route description. The local park, river trail and bus corridor serve different purposes, giving residents several distinct places to start exploring the area.
